A large resort hotel beside Bomun Lake in the Bomun Tourist Complex, about 10 minutes by car from the old town. There are pools and a spa, and the lakeside paths are right outside — lovely in cherry-blossom season. A comfortable base if you're mixing sightseeing with downtime, though you'll need a bus or taxi to reach the tombs and temples.

Sa Rang Chae Guesthouse

A small, long-running hanok guesthouse beside Daereungwon Tumuli Park, with traditional rooms around a courtyard where you sleep on mattresses on heated ondol floors.
