The original branch of Omen, a short walk from Ginkaku-ji at the northern end of the Philosopher's Path. The signature dish is its namesake: thick, chewy handmade udon dipped in a sesame-rich broth, served with a plate of seasonal vegetables you add yourself. It doesn't take reservations and queues form by late morning, so arrive early or come mid-afternoon.
