Hallgrímskirkja
About Hallgrímskirkja
Iceland's most iconic building — a 74.5m concrete church inspired by the columnar basalt lava flows of Iceland, designed by Guðjón Samúelsson and built over 41 years (1945–1986). The tower elevator provides the best view of Reykjavik and the surrounding volcanic landscape. The statue of Leif Eriksson in front is a gift from the USA.
