About Boquete for Solo Travelers
Panama's highland coffee country and outdoor adventure hub where solo travelers hike to roaring waterfalls, spot resplendent quetzals, and drink some of the world's most prized coffee from beans grown in the next valley.
Solo Travel Tips· Solo Friendly
Boquete in the Chiriquí highlands is Panama's outdoor adventure and specialty coffee hub — the Lost Waterfalls trail, the Quetzal Trail (one of Central America's best birding hikes), and the white-water rafting on the Chiriquí River are all excellent solo activities that naturally group travelers. The coffee farm tours are superb. Boquete has a significant expat community and very good English.

A riverside hostel-hotel in Boquete, formerly Selina Boquete and now part of the Socialtel group, with dorms, private rooms, a bar and gardens by the Caldera River. It's a sociable base for the town's coffee tours, hikes up Volcán Barú and the Pipeline Trail. Service went through a bumpy patch during the rebrand, so check recent reviews.
