About Cartagena for Solo Travelers

Colombia's perfectly preserved walled Caribbean city — solo travelers wander flower-draped colonial streets by day, then find rooftop bars for sunset over the sea in one of the Americas' most photogenic cities.

🟢

Solo Travel Tips· Solo Friendly

Cartagena's walled old city is one of the most beautiful in the Americas and very manageable solo — the coloured colonial streets, flower-balconied houses, and Caribbean sea are all within the walls. Solo dining is completely normalised in the many rooftop and courtyard restaurants. The Rosario Islands boat trip groups solo travelers. Getsemaní neighbourhood (just outside the walls) has excellent budget options and a vibrant street art scene.
