Dubrovnik City Walls

The most complete medieval defensive walls in the world — 1,940 meters of limestone walls up to 6 meters thick, with 16 towers and forts encircling the entire Old Town. Rector's Palace Dubrovnik

The seat of the Ragusan Republic's government for centuries — a beautifully harmonious Gothic-Renaissance building housing the Cultural History Museum. The atrium with its Cipiko bell and the rector's apartments are atmospheric and less crowded than the walls and old town.

Fort Lovrijenac

The most dramatic fortress in Dubrovnik — a 37-meter-high triangular fort built in 1018 on a sheer cliff outside the western walls, bearing the inscription 'Non bene pro toto libertas venditur auro' (Freedom must not be sold for all the gold in the world). The terrace views over the city walls are the finest in Dubrovnik.
