About Split for Solo Travelers
A living city inside a Roman emperor's palace — solo travelers wander Diocletian's 1,700-year-old halls, catch ferries to Adriatic islands, and find Split one of Croatia's most energetic and naturally social cities.
Solo Travel Tips· Solo Friendly
Split is one of Croatia's most socially vibrant cities for solo travelers — the Riva promenade is the social spine of the city, the old town lives entirely inside Diocletian's 1,700-year-old palace, and the ferry connections to the islands (Hvar, Brač, Vis) are excellent for day trips. The Meštrović Gallery is an outstanding solo cultural experience. The hostel scene in the palace is excellent and very social.
