Solo Travel Tips· Solo Friendly

Encarnación is on the Paraná River opposite Posadas, Argentina — the Trinidad Jesuit Ruins (UNESCO, beautifully preserved) are the main solo attraction and easily reached by taxi. The city has a beach resort culture along the river that's surprisingly pleasant. The Carnaval Encarnaceno (February) is one of South America's most spectacular and underrated carnivals. Very safe and very affordable.
