Solo Travel Tips· Solo Friendly

Guadalajara is Mexico's most authentically Mexican city — mariachi was born here, tequila is distilled 30 minutes away in Tequila town, and the charro (cowboy) culture is everywhere. The Tlaquepaque artisan village is a superb solo afternoon, the Mercado San Juan de Dios is one of Mexico's largest markets, and the Hospicio Cabañas Orozco murals are world-class. Very walkable and safe in the centro.
