About León for Solo Travelers
Nicaragua's city of poets, revolution, and the world's most extreme volcano boarding — solo travelers sandboard down the slopes of an active volcano and absorb the murals of a city that never stopped being political.
Solo Travel Tips· Solo Friendly
León is Nicaragua's revolutionary and intellectual capital — the rooftop cathedral walk, the Museo de la Revolución, and the volcano boarding on Cerro Negro are all unmissable solo experiences. The hostel scene here is excellent and very social. It's hotter than Granada but the city's passionate political murals and university culture give it an energy all its own. Very affordable even by Central American standards.
