About Riga for Solo Travelers
The Art Nouveau capital of the Baltic — Riga's extraordinary Jugendstil architecture, Europe's largest indoor market, and compact medieval old town make it one of the Baltics' most rewarding solo cities.
Solo Travel Tips· Solo Friendly
Riga has the world's largest collection of Art Nouveau architecture and is very solo-friendly — the Central Market (Europe's largest covered market, in converted Zeppelin hangars) is extraordinary, the Art Nouveau district walk is self-guided and superb, and the Old Town is compact and safe. The Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum outside the city is an outstanding solo half-day. Very affordable by Northern European standards.
