About Rotterdam for Solo Travelers
Europe's most architecturally adventurous city β Rotterdam rebuilt itself from wartime rubble into a skyline of cube houses, market halls, and bridges that architecture-obsessed solo travelers come from across the world to photograph.
Solo Travel TipsΒ· Solo Friendly
Rotterdam was bombed flat in 1940 and rebuilt as Europe's most architectural city β the Markthal, the Cube Houses, the Erasmus Bridge, and the shipping port (largest in Europe) make it extraordinary for architecture-loving solo travelers. The food hall culture is excellent for solo grazing. Very easy day trip from Amsterdam (45 mins by train) or worth its own overnight stay. Far fewer tourists than Amsterdam.
