About Santa Cruz for Solo Travelers
Bolivia's tropical lowland capital — a modern city that solo travelers use as the base for the extraordinary Jesuit Missions circuit and the wildlife-rich Amboró cloudforest.
Solo Travel Tips· Solo Friendly
Santa Cruz is Bolivia's lowland economic capital and much more modern and accessible than La Paz — the Equipetrol district has good restaurants and nightlife, and the city is a gateway to the Jesuit Missions circuit and Amboró National Park. Solo travelers use it mostly as a transit hub. The altitude is basically sea level, so it's a good acclimatization base if you're heading up.
