About Great Zimbabwe for Solo Travelers
The ruins of a medieval African city that gave a country its name β solo travelers who come to Great Zimbabwe find one of sub-Saharan Africa's greatest archaeological mysteries in almost complete solitude.
Solo Travel TipsΒ· Solo Friendly
Great Zimbabwe is one of sub-Saharan Africa's most important archaeological sites and very manageable as a solo day trip from Masvingo β the site guide is worth hiring to understand the context of what you're seeing. The scale of the stone walls (built without mortar) is genuinely awe-inspiring. Allow 2-3 hours. Very safe and well-maintained.
