About Hamburg for Solo Travelers
Germany's port city of red-brick warehouses, a glass concert hall on the river, and a Sunday fish market that starts before dawn — Hamburg rewards solo travelers who go beyond Berlin.
Solo Travel Tips· Solo Friendly
Hamburg is Germany's most underrated city for solo travelers — the Speicherstadt red-brick warehouse district and Elbphilharmonie are architectural marvels, the Fischmarkt on Sunday morning (starting at 5am) is extraordinary, and the Schanzenviertel neighbourhood has excellent independent cafés and bars. The harbour is vast and constantly busy. The Reeperbahn's infamy is manageable context; it's not the whole city.

Reeperbahn
Nightlife
The most famous entertainment street in Northern Europe — St Pauli's Reeperbahn is where the Beatles learned their trade (the Indra Club where they first played is still open), where Hamburg's legendary sex industry and its world-class club scene coexist, and where the city's most exuberant nightlife happens 365 nights a year.
