Tak Bat Alms Giving Ceremony
Every morning at dawn, hundreds of orange-robed monks silently file through the streets collecting rice from kneeling residents - the most sacred Buddhist ritual in Laos. Visitors may observe respectfully from a distance. Do not touch monks, dress modestly, and avoid using flash photography.

Royal Palace Museum Luang Prabang
The former home of the Lao royal family, converted to a museum after the 1975 revolution and preserving royal artifacts, thrones, gifts from foreign leaders, and the sacred Phra Bang Buddha image. A fascinating window into the country's pre-communist history and Lao royal culture.
