Mount Phousi

Kuang Si Waterfall
The most beautiful waterfall in Laos - three tiers of turquoise blue pools descending through limestone formations in a jungle forest 29km south of Luang Prabang. The middle pools are ideal for swimming and the Bear Rescue Centre at the entrance protects rescued sun bears from bile farms.

Tad Sae Waterfall
A series of cascading limestone pools more accessible than Kuang Si and completely crowd-free during weekdays, reached by an entertaining ox-cart journey from the river landing. The elephant camp adjacent to the waterfall has been converted to ethical observation-only and the swimming pools are excellent.
