About Bali for Solo Travelers
An island of Hindu temples, rice terraces, and one of the world's most developed solo traveler ecosystems β Bali's yoga studios, coworking spaces, and spiritual culture have made it a destination where traveling alone feels like the natural way to arrive.
Solo Travel TipsΒ· Solo Friendly
Bali is one of the world's great solo travel destinations β the yoga and wellness community means solo travelers are completely the norm, coworking spaces are excellent, and the cultural richness (temple ceremonies, rice terrace walks, traditional offerings) rewards slow solo exploration. Rent a scooter to explore independently. Canggu is the digital nomad hub; Ubud is for culture and wellness; Seminyak for beach and nightlife. Each has its own distinct solo social scene.

Campuhan Ridge Walk
Nature
Ubud's most beloved morning walk β a 3km ridge path through sweeping green hills and rice paddies above the Campuhan river valley, with views all the way to Mount Agung on clear days. Free, safe, and manageable solo. Start at 6am for mist, bird song, and the magical quality of early Balinese light. Ends at local warungs and the Neka Art Museum.

Jatiluwih Rice Terraces
Nature
A UNESCO World Heritage landscape β 600 hectares of spectacular ancient rice terraces following the traditional Balinese Subak irrigation system that has been in unbroken use for over 1,000 years. Far less visited than Tegalalang, Jatiluwih offers undisturbed panoramas of layered green terraces against Mount Batukaru and Mount Agung. A 2-hour drive from Ubud but completely worth it.

Mount Batur & Lake Batur
Nature
Bali's most popular sunrise hike β a 2-hour guided trek up the active volcano's rim (1,717m) rewarded with sunrise over a sea of clouds and a panoramic view of Lake Batur shimmering in the caldera below. Book a guide the evening before in Kintamani. The lake-side villages at the base offer some of Bali's best fresh fish warungs for post-hike breakfast.

A 12.5-hectare sacred nature reserve in the heart of Ubud, home to over 1,200 free-roaming long-tailed macaques and three ancient Hindu temple complexes dating to the 14th century. Moss-covered stone carvings, towering fig trees, and walking paths through dense jungle. One of the most atmospheric and photogenic places in all of Ubud.
