About Monteverde for Solo Travelers
A cloud forest hovering above the Pacific and Caribbean slopes β solo travelers walk swaying hanging bridges above the canopy and spot resplendent quetzals in one of the world's most extraordinary ecosystems.
Solo Travel TipsΒ· Solo Friendly
Monteverde's cloud forest is one of Costa Rica's most unique ecosystems β the Curi-Cancha and Santa Elena reserves are excellent for solo wildlife spotting (quetzals, sloths, jaguarundis). The hanging bridges walk is stunning and self-guided. The night tour is one of the best solo wildlife experiences in Central America. Roads are rough; take a shared shuttle from La Fortuna rather than renting a car for this leg.
