Huaqing Palace Xian

The most important archaeological discovery of the 20th century - 8,000 life-size clay soldiers, horses, and chariots buried with China's first emperor Qin Shi Huang in 210 BC, each with a unique face. The most complete ancient city wall in China - a 14km Ming Dynasty rampart from 1370, 12 meters high and 15 meters wide, encircling the entire ancient city with 98 watchtowers and 4 monumental gates. The best way to see it is to rent a bicycle and cycle the full circuit - one of the most unique urban cycling routes in the world.

One of the finest museums in China with over 370,000 artifacts spanning 1.15 million years of human history in the Yellow River region. The Tang Dynasty gold and silver treasures, the Qin bronze weapons, and the Han Dynasty painted pottery are among the most important collections in the world - absolutely essential context for any Xi'an visit.
