About Phuket for Solo Travelers
Thailand's largest island and gateway to limestone karst bays and emerald sea caves β solo travelers island-hop to Phi Phi, kayak through mangrove caves in Phang Nga Bay, and find Phuket far more varied than its beach-resort reputation suggests.
Solo Travel TipsΒ· Solo Friendly
Phuket is Thailand's most developed island and very solo-accessible β the Phi Phi Islands and Phang Nga Bay speedboat tours group solo travelers naturally, and the beaches (Kamala, Kata Noi) are good for solo sunbathing. Patong is the party beach; Kata and Karon are calmer. Old Phuket Town has excellent street art and coffee shops far removed from the tourist beach scene. The Sunday Walking Street in Old Town is excellent for solo food grazing.
